The popular ClockworkMod custom recovery is finally available for the Samsung Galaxy Grand that makes you able to install zip files containing custom ROMs, MODs, tweaks, etc, this is one of best custom recovery to perform backups and wipe, here you can get it for your Galaxy Grand.
Keep in mind that this recovery is compatible with just Galaxy Grand Duos having model number I9082, so don’t try it over single SIM Galaxy Grand I9080. It’s important to note that this recovery will void the warranty of your phone, so think carefully before you proceed.
This guide shows you how to install ClockworkMod recovery for Galaxy Grand Duos. It doesn’t wipe anything but just for safety you should make a backup, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use the carbon Android app to backup apps. You need a Windows PC with USB driver installed, you can use Samsung KIES to install drivers but disable KIES before installation as it may disturb the installation. Make sure phone battery is charged.

Instructions
Step #1: Download ClockworkMod recovery for Galaxy Grand Duos from here [File Name: CWM-touch_i9082_chotu.tar.zip].3
Step #2: Download Odin3 v3.04 from here.
Step #3: Unzip both downloaded zip files into a folder and then run Odin3 v3.04.exe.
Step #4: Turn the device off.
Step #5: Reboot the device into download mode, to do this reboot phone by holding down volume down, home and power buttons until you see GT-i9082 logo, then press the volume up button to enter in download mode.
Step #6: Once you’re in download mode plug the device to PC using USB cable. Odin will detect the device, ID:COM will turn yellow and a message saying ADDED will appear. (Note: If Odin doesn’t detect the device, make sure that USB drivers are properly installed on your computer).
Step #7: Click on PDA Button and locate CWM-touch_i9082_chotu.tar.md5 from the folder where you’ve unzipped above files in the step 2. (Note: Don’t make any change, just make sure that re-partition is unchecked).
Step #8: Click on Start button to start installation, once the installation done, your device will reboot itself and you’ll see message saying PASS (Note: If Odin refuse to install the update and show message FAIL, or get stuck, close the Odin and unplug device, then pull out battery from the device for a few seconds. Then put the battery back to the device and reboot into download mode. Then install the firmware again).
Step #9: Unplug phone from PC.
