The popular TWRP (TeamWin Recovery Project) for HTC First has been released, TWRP Recovery offers a decent bunch of features that you can’t find for other custom recoveries such as a built-in file manager app, theme engine, onscreen keyboard to name and rename backups, lockscreen and more, you can easily flash zip files containing custom ROMs, MODs, tweaks, etc as well as ability to perform backups and wipe, thanks to XDA developer Flyhalf205.
This guide shows you how to install TWRP Recovery for HTC First. Make sure you have unlocked bootloader, check this guide to unlock bootloader and use a Windows PC with USB phone driver installed, official HTC Sync software can be used to install drivers.

Instructions
Step #1: Download the Fastboot package to your PC.
Step #2: Unzip the downloaded fastboot.zip file into C drive.
Step #3: Download the TWRP recovery for HTC First from here.
Step #4: Copy the downloaded .img file to fastboot folder that you have unzipped in C drive earlier.
Step #5: Uncheck fastboot in the rom in power options and then turn off your HTC First.
Step #6: Reboot your HTC First in fastboot mode, to do so reboot phone by holding down volume down and power buttons until you enter in bootloader mode, in bootloader menus use volume keys to highlight and power button to select the fastboot mode.
Step #7: Once you’re in fastboot mode, plug phone to PC using a USB cable.
Step #8: Open up command prompt, you can get it under start menu>programs>accessories.
Step #9: Issue the following command on command prompt, it will take you to fastboot folder:
C:\fastboot
Step #10: Issue another following command, it will shows you the serial number of your HTC First, if it doesn’t show that, your phone is not connected with PC properly, ensure that phone drivers are installed on PC properly:
fastboot devices
Step #11: Enter another following command to install recovery now (replace the “name” with file name you downloaded in step 3:
fastboot flash recovery “name”.img
Step #12: Once the installation is done, enter following command to reboot phone:
fastboot reboot
Step #13: Unplug phone from PC.
