Motorola has already released the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for Verizon Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX XT912 almost a month ago that brought so many stock Jelly Bean goodies with various Motorola apps (Changelog are here).
However if you’re still waiting for the update or facing any trouble with official OTA update, install the update manually on your Verizon Droid RAZR. Here’s step by step guide to learn how to install Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for Verizon Droid RAZR/RAZR MAXX.
Make sure your phone is on stock Android 4.0.4 build number 6.16.211 or the Android 4.1 firmware with build number 98.72.8, however it doesn’t make really matter whether your phone is rooted or not. You need an external SD card as update can’t be installed through internal storage. Don’t forget to make backup because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use the carbon Android app to backup apps and data.

Instructions
Step #1: Download Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for Verizon Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX from here (for ICS) and here (for Jelly Bean).
Step #2: Transfer the downloaded zip file to SD card of your phone.
Step #3: Turn your phone off.
Step #4: Reboot phone in stock recovery mode, to do this, reboot phone by holding down volume down, volume up and power buttons until you see menu, there use volume down button to highlight recovery option and then press volume up button to select the option. You’ll see green Android with a triangle on the screen, then press both volume up and volume down buttons together to enter in recovery mode (Note: In recovery mode use volume keys to navigate and power button to select).
Step #5: Select “install/apply update from external sdcard/storage” and locate the Blur_Version.672.180.41.XT910.Retail.en.EU.zip file. It will start installation that may take time, so be patient. Your phone may reboot many times during the installation process.
