Almost a month ago, Motorola rolled out the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX (XT910) that brings many handy features while enhancing performance including so many Motorola apps and widgets (check out Droid RAZR / Droid RAZR Maxx Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update changelog here).
However if you are not able to install update officially on your phone through OTA, simply download and install the OTA update manually, this guide shows you how to download and install Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update on RAZR/RAZR MAXX manually. Keep in mind that this update is compatible with just Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX with model number XT910, don’t try on XT912.
Your phone must be on stock Android 4.0.4 firmware build 672.180.41.XT910.Retail.en.EU however rooting doesn’t disturb. Battery of phone should be charged and you need an external SD card. Backup everything because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use the carbon Android app to backup apps and data.

Instructions
Step #1: Download Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX from here (File Name: Blur_Version.672.180.41.XT910.Retail.en.EU.zip).
Step #2: Transfer the downloaded zip file to SD card of your phone.
Step #3: Turn your phone off.
Step #4: Reboot phone in stock recovery mode, to do this, reboot phone by holding down volume down, volume up and power buttons until you see menu, there use volume down button to highlight recovery option and then press volume up button to select the option. You’ll see green Android with a triangle on the screen, then press both volume up and volume down buttons together to enter in recovery mode (Note: In recovery mode use volume keys to navigate and power button to select).
Step #5: Select “install/apply update from external sdcard/storage” and locate the Blur_Version.672.180.41.XT910.Retail.en.EU.zip file. It will start installation that may take time, so be patient. Your phone may reboot many times during the installation process.
