The ClockworkMod recovery for your shiny Samsung Galaxy S4 has been arrived in the wild, it’s a well-known custom recovery to install zip files that contains custom ROMs, MODs, kernels, tweaks, etc, you can also use the CWM for Galaxy S4 to perform nandroid backups and wipe if you need, thanks to senior XDA developer member emwno.
However keep in mind that this CWM recovery for Galaxy S4 is still an experimental build but it’s been tested and works flawlessly on Galaxy S4 I9500. Here’s step by step guide to learn how to install ClockworkMod recovery on Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500, it’s ClockworkMod recovery version 6.0.
You need a Windows PC with USB driver installed, you can use Samsung KIES to install drivers but disable KIES before installation because it may disturb installation. It doesn’t wipe anything but just for safety you should backup everything, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use the carbon Android app to backup apps and data.

Instructions
Step #1: Download the latest version of ClockworkMod Recovery from official thread here [XDA Link].
Step #2: Download Odin3 v3.04 from here.
Step #3: Unzip the downloaded zip files into a folder.
Step #4: Open the folder where you’ve unzipped above file and run Odin3 v3.04.exe.
Step #5: Turn the device off.
Step #6: Reboot the device into download mode by holding down volume down, home and power buttons.
Step #7: Once you’re in download mode plug the device to PC using USB cable. Odin will detect the device, ID:COM will turn yellow and a message saying ADDED will appear. (Note: If Odin doesn’t detect the device, make sure that USB drivers are properly installed on your computer).
Step #8: Click on PDA Button and locate the recovery .tar file (like CWM-i9500_EXP2.tar) that you downloaded in first step (Note: Don’t make any change, just make sure that re-partition is unchecked).
Step #9: Click on Start button to start installation, once the installation done, your device will reboot itself and you’ll see message saying PASS (Note: If Odin refuse to install the update and show message FAIL, or get stuck, close the Odin and unplug device, then pull out battery from the device for a few seconds. Then put the battery back to the device and reboot into download mode. Then install the firmware again).
Step #10: Unplug the phone from your computer.
